Cindy Rizza is a classically trained, representational oil painter who holds a BFA from New Hampshire Institute of Art. Cindy’s work is collected internationally and she has won numerous painting awards including the Vermont Studio Center Artist Grant and the Best of Show Prize at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art Annual Juried National Exhibition. Originally from Maine, Cindy now lives and works with her husband and two daughters in Southern New Hampshire.

Cindy’s work examines familiar domestic comforts and the objects we use to feel secure. Many of her paintings include heirloom textiles and elements of childhood nostalgia, summoning conflicting feelings of comfort and loneliness, hope and foreboding, life and loss. See more by visiting her website (http://www.cindyrizza.com ) and connecting with Cindy on Instagram.

This episode explores Cindy’s journey as she moved from art school, to juggling a full time job and making work, and then adding two kids to the mix. Cindy was able to move to working for herself full time and she talks about the transition and how art is something you find time for if its your true passion. Cindy is full of charisma, strength, and grace and I know this interview will leave you full of inspiration!
